天使对我说：“你为什么这样惊奇呢？我要将这妇人和她骑的七头十角怪兽的奥秘告诉你。

天使對我說：「你為甚麼希奇呢？我要將這女人和馱着她的那七頭十角獸的奧祕告訴你。

天使對我說：「你為甚麼詫異呢？我要把這女人和馱着她那七頭十角的獸的奧祕告訴你。

天使對我說：「你為什麼這樣驚奇呢？我要將這婦人和她騎的七頭十角怪獸的奧祕告訴你。

天使對我說：“你為甚麼驚奇呢？我要把這婦人的奧祕，和馱著她的那七頭十角的獸的奧祕告訴你。

天使對我說：『你為甚麼驚奇呢？我要將這婦人象徵的奧祕和那馱着她的、那有七個頭十個角的獸、象徵的奧祕告訴你。

那位天使對我說：「你為什麼驚奇呢？我要把這女人和馱著她的那七頭十角獸的奧祕告訴你。

使者謂我曰、爾何奇耶、婦與所乘首七角十之獸、我將以奧秘告爾、

天使語我曰、爾何異耶、婦與所乘首七角十之獸、其奧義我將示汝、

天使問我曰、爾何驚駭、婦與所乘七首十角之獸、我將以其奧義示爾、

天神語予曰：胡驚異為？吾欲告爾以此婦及其所乘七首十角之獸之秘密。

拿着七碗的七位天使中，有一位过来对我讲话，说：“来，我要给你看那坐在众水之上的大淫妇所要受的审判。地上的众君王曾与她行淫乱，住在地上的人也喝醉了她淫乱的酒。”于是我在灵里被天使带到旷野。随后，我看见一个女人骑在一只深红色的兽上，这兽有七个头，十只角，遍体布满了亵渎的名号。那女人身穿紫色和深红色的衣服，以金子、宝石和珍珠为装饰。她手里拿着金杯，杯中盛满了可憎之物和她淫乱的污秽。在她的额上写着一个奥秘的名号：“大巴比伦，地上的淫妇们和可憎之物的母亲。”随后，我看见那女人喝醉了圣徒们的血，以及为耶稣做见证之人的血。我看到她就大大惊奇。

你所看见的那兽，先前在而现今不在，并将要从无底坑里上来，然后走向灭亡。住在地上的人，凡是名字从创世以来没有被记在生命册上的，看见那先前在而现今不在，并将要出现的兽时，都会感到惊奇。
