我要在你们身上洒清水洁净你们，洗净你们所有的污秽，除掉你们心中一切的偶像。

“所以，你要告诉以色列人，主耶和华这样说，‘你们仍像你们祖先一样与可憎的偶像苟合，玷污自己吗？

就是你借着你的仆人——众先知给我们的吩咐，‘你们将要占领的那片土地被当地人的污秽玷污，他们的可憎行径使那里充满污秽。

不管别人用什么诡计，你们都不要上当。因为那日子来临之前，必有离经叛道的事发生，而那不法之徒，就是那注定灭亡的人也要出现。他会抵挡主，高抬自己超过一切所谓的神明和人们崇拜的对象，甚至坐在上帝的殿中以上帝自居！我还在你们那里的时候，曾告诉过你们这些事，你们忘记了吗？现在，你们知道是什么拦阻他，使他等到特定的时间才出现。其实那不法之徒的阴谋已经在酝酿中，然而现在有一位在拦阻他。等到拦阻他的那位一离开，他就会出现，但主耶稣会用自己口中的气毁灭他，用从天降临的荣光废掉他。他来要按照撒旦的伎俩行各样虚假的异能、神迹和奇事，用尽各样诡计欺骗那些将要灭亡的人，因为他们不喜欢接受那能拯救他们的真理。

接着又一位天使说：“巴比伦大城倒塌了！倒塌了！她曾引诱万民喝她那淫乱的烈酒。”

他做耶和华视为恶的事，效法耶和华在以色列人面前赶走的外族人的可憎行径。

他反倒祭拜他祖先不认识的堡垒之神，向它献上金银宝石及贵重的礼物。

因为祂的审判真实公义，祂惩罚了那用淫乱败坏世界的大淫妇，为那些被她杀害的奴仆申冤。”

“至于那些任意妄为、以行可憎之事为乐、宰牛就像杀人、献羊羔就像打断狗颈、献谷物就像献猪血、烧香就像颂赞偶像的人，

耶路撒冷啊，淫荡使你污秽不堪，我要洁净你，你却不愿被洁净。所以，除非我向你倾尽一切愤怒，否则你的污秽将不能清除。

她怎样待人，你们也要怎样待她，要按她所做的加倍地报应她，用她调酒的杯加倍地调给她喝。她过去怎样自炫自耀、奢华荒淫，现在也要让她怎样痛苦哀伤。因为她心里说，‘我贵为女王，不是寡妇，绝不会经历哀伤。’

国中甚至男庙妓充斥。犹大人仿效耶和华在以色列人面前赶走的外族人，行各种可憎之事。

然后，把倒空的锅放在炭火上烧热，把铜烧红，好熔化它的杂质，除净锈垢，

你们也见过他们用木、石、金、银造的可憎神像。
