The beast opened its mouth to speak evil things against God. It told lies about God and about the place where God lives. And it told lies about those who live in heaven with him.

It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.

Rejoice over her fate, O heaven and people of God and apostles and prophets! For at last God has judged her for your sakes.

No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering.You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect.

So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world.With his own blood— not the blood of goats and calves— he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.

And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang:“ Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.”

There were two rooms in that Tabernacle. In the first room were a lampstand, a table, and sacred loaves of bread on the table. This room was called the Holy Place.

After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands.

For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf.

After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting,“ Praise the Lord! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.His judgments are true and just. He has punished the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the murder of his servants.”And again their voices rang out:“ Praise the Lord! The smoke from that city ascends forever and ever!”Then the twenty four elders and the four living beings fell down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out,“ Amen! Praise the Lord!”And from the throne came a voice that said,“ Praise our God, all his servants, all who fear him, from the least to the greatest.”Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder:“ Praise the Lord! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.

Then a loud voice from heaven called to the two prophets,“ Come up here!” And they rose to heaven in a cloud as their enemies watched.

Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said,“ Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.”

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying,“ Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.

For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.

Twenty four thrones surrounded him, and twenty four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.

For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.

At last Job spoke, and he cursed the day of his birth.

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ,
