天上又出現了另一個景象。看哪！有一條大紅龍，有七頭十角，七頭上戴著七個皇冠。

我在靈裡被天使帶到曠野去，看見一個婦人，騎著朱紅色的獸，這獸布滿了褻瀆的名號，有七頭十角。

他們作完了見證的時候，那從無底坑上來的獸要跟他們作戰，勝過他們，把他們殺死。

“那位侍立者這樣說：‘那第四隻獸就是世上必有的第四國，和其他各國都不相同；牠必吞吃全地，踐踏咬碎全地。至於那十角，就是從這國中將要興起的十個王，在他們以後，必有另一個王興起，和先前的王都不相同；他必制伏三個王。他必說話，敵擋至高者；他必折磨至高者的聖民，又想改變節期和律法；聖民必交在他的手中，一載、二載、半載（“一載、二載、半載”或譯：“一個時期、多個時期、半個時期”）。

“那王必任意而行，自高自大，超過所有的神，又說一些怪誕的話攻擊萬神之神。他必行事順利，直到神的忿怒完畢；因為所定的事必會實現。

但以理說：“在夜間的異象中，我看見天的四風，攪動大海。“有四隻巨獸從海中上來，形狀各不相同。

後來，我在夜間的異象中繼續觀看，看見有第四隻獸，非常恐怖，十分可怕，極其強壯。牠有大鐵牙；牠吞吃咬碎，又把剩餘的用腳踐踏；這獸和前面的各獸都不相同；牠有十個角。我正在究察這些角的時候，看見角的中間長出另一個小角來。在這小角前面，有三個先前的角連根被拔起來。這小角有眼，像人的眼，又有一張說誇大話的嘴。

你看見的十角和那獸，都要恨那淫婦，使她荒涼赤身，又要吃她的肉，用火把她燒掉。

那時我想知道有關第四隻獸的實情，牠和其他三獸不相同，十分恐怖，有鐵牙銅爪；牠吞吃咬碎，又把剩餘的用腳踐踏。我又想知道有關牠頭上的十角，和那另長出來的小角，以及那三個在這小角前面倒下的角的實情。這小角有眼，有說誇大話的嘴；牠的形狀比牠的同類更威猛。

天使對我說：“你為甚麼驚奇呢？我要把這婦人的奧祕，和馱著她的那七頭十角的獸的奧祕告訴你。你看見的那獸，先前在、現今不在、將來要從無底坑上來，然後走向滅亡。住在世上的人，凡是名字在創世以來沒有記在生命冊上的，看見了那先前在、現今不在、將來還要出現的獸，就都要驚奇。在這裡需要有智慧的心。七頭就是那婦人所坐的七座山，也就是七位王：五位已經倒了，一位還在，另一位還沒有來到；他來的時候，必須存留一會兒。那先前在、現今不在的獸，就是第八位。他也是出於那七位中的一位的，並且正在走向滅亡。你看見的那十角，就是十王，他們還沒有取得王權；但要跟獸一同得著權柄，作王一個時期。

我又看見好像有一個攙雜著火的玻璃海；也看見那些勝過了獸、獸像，以及獸名的數字的人。他們都站在玻璃海上，拿著神的琴。

‘你們連我都不懼怕嗎？在我面前你們也不戰兢嗎？’這是耶和華的宣告。‘我以沙作海的疆界，作永遠的界限，海就不能越過；波浪翻騰，卻不能漫過；怒濤澎湃，仍無法逾越。

龍又給了那獸一張說誇大和褻瀆話的嘴巴，也給了牠權柄可以任意而行四十二個月。獸就開口向神說褻瀆的話，褻瀆他的名和他的帳幕，以及那些住在天上的。

不要讓人用任何方法迷惑了你們，因為主的日子來到以前，必定有背道的事，並且那不法的人，就是那沉淪之子，必定顯露出來。他抵擋神，抬舉自己，高過一切稱為神或受人敬拜的，甚至坐在神的殿中，自稱為神。

她額上寫著一個名號：“奧祕，大巴比倫，地上的淫婦和可憎的物之母。”
