永恆主這麼說：「看吧，我必用我手中的杖擊打河裏的水，水就變為血：藉着這個，你就知道我乃是永恆主。河裏的魚必死，河必發臭，埃及人就必厭惡、不喫這河裏的水。」」永恆主對摩西說：『你要對亞倫說：「拿你的杖，伸手在埃及所有的水以上，在他們的江、河、池塘以上，以及一切積水之地以上，叫水都變為血，以致在埃及全地，無論在木器中、在石器中、都有了血。」』摩西、亞倫就照永恆主所吩咐的去行：在法老和法老的臣僕眼前，亞倫舉起手杖，擊打河裏的水，河裏的水就都變為血。河裏的魚死了，河也發臭，埃及人就不能喫這河裏的水了：埃及全地都有了血。埃及的術士也用他們的祕術照樣地行；但法老心裏剛硬，不聽摩西、亞倫，正如永恆主所說的。法老轉身進宮，竟不把這事放在心上。埃及人都在河的周圍挖地，要得水喫，因為他們不能喫這河裏的水。永恆主擊打了河以後、過了七天，

所以你們要彼此認罪，互相代禱，使你們得醫治，義人竭力的祈求是大有功效的。以利亞是和我們同樣性質的人；他懇切禱告，求別下雨，雨就三年零六個月沒有下在地上。他又禱告，天就賜下雨水，地就產生果實來。

他差遣了他的僕人摩西、和他所揀選的亞倫。他在埃及施他的神迹，在含地顯他的奇事。他打發黑暗，使那地暗黑；埃及人卻不理睬他的話。他叫他們的水都變為血，使他們的魚全都死掉。他們地上滋生着青蛙，在王的內室也有。他說一聲，蒼蠅羣就來，並有蚋子在他們四境。他給他們降下冰雹為雨，又降下燄火在他們地上。他擊打了他們的葡萄樹和無花果樹，折毁了他們境內的樹木。他說一聲，蝗蟲就來，蝻子也來，不計其數；喫盡了他們地上的各樣菜蔬，吞喫了他們田間的果實。他擊殺了他們國內所有的長子，他們強壯時的初生子。

永恆主的話傳與我說：『人子啊，主永恆主對以色列地這麼說：結局哦！結局臨到這地的四境了！現在結局已經臨到你了！我必發怒攻擊你；按你的行徑判罰你，將你一切可厭惡的事還報與你。我的眼必不顧惜你，我必不可憐你；我卻要將你所行的還報與你；而你可厭惡之事的報應必在你中間；你就知道我乃是永恆主。『主永恆主這麼說：災禍！獨一的災禍！看吧！就來到了！結局到了！那結局到了！它醒了起來攻擊你；看吧！就來到了！境內的居民哪，所定的災禍臨到你了！時候到了！日子近了！是鬨嚷擾亂，並不是山上歡呼的日子。如今我快要將我的烈怒傾倒在你身上，向你發盡我的怒氣，按你的行徑判罰你，將你一切可厭惡的事還報與你了。我的眼必不顧惜，我必不可憐；我卻要將你所行的還報與你；而你可厭惡之事的報應必在你中間；你就知道我乃是永恆主。永恆主這麼說：『看哪，日子！看哪，到了！所定的災禍已經發出；「枉法」開了花了，驕橫發了芽了。強暴興起，成了邪惡之杖；他們之中沒有一樣存着；他們的羣眾沒有了，他們的財寶沒有了；他們中間也沒有出類拔萃之可言了。時候到了，日子近了。買的人不必歡喜，賣的人也不必憂愁，因為永恆主的烈怒已臨到所有的蜂擁羣眾。
