Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord, the one you teach from your law;

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O Lord, and whom you teach out of your law,

Joyful are those you discipline, Lord, those you teach with your instructions.

LORD, how happy is anyone you discipline and teach from your law

Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jehovah, And teachest out of thy law;

Lord, happy is the man You discipline and teach from Your law

Blessed[ is] the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;

How blessed is the one whom you instruct, O LORD, the one whom you teach from your law,

My son, don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction;for whom Yahweh loves, he corrects, even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights.

“ Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.

You have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children,“ My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him;for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and chastises every son whom he receives.”It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline?But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then you are illegitimate, and not children.Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?For they indeed, for a few days, punished us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

But when we are judged, we are punished by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn your statutes.

Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones,so that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food.His flesh is so consumed away that it can’t be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out.Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.“ If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him;then God is gracious to him, and says,‘ Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’His flesh will be fresher than a child’s. He returns to the days of his youth.

As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I observe your word.

You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you.

Yahweh’s voice calls to the city, and wisdom sees your name:“ Listen to the rod, and he who appointed it.
