Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord, the one you teach from your law;

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O Lord, and whom you teach out of your law,

Joyful are those you discipline, Lord, those you teach with your instructions.

LORD, how happy is anyone you discipline and teach from your law

Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jehovah, And teachest out of thy law;

Lord, happy is the man You discipline and teach from Your law

How blessed is the one whom you instruct, O LORD, the one whom you teach from your law,

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, Yah, and teach out of your law,

My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction;For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

“ Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:“ My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.

Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction.In order to turn man from his deed, And conceal pride from man,He keeps back his soul from the Pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.“ Man is also chastened with pain on his bed, And with strong pain in many of his bones,So that his life abhors bread, And his soul succulent food.His flesh wastes away from sight, And his bones stick out which once were not seen.Yes, his soul draws near the Pit, And his life to the executioners.“ If there is a messenger for him, A mediator, one among a thousand, To show man His uprightness,Then He is gracious to him, and says,‘ Deliver him from going down to the Pit; I have found a ransom’;His flesh shall be young like a child’s, He shall return to the days of his youth.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word.

You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.

The LORD’s voice cries to the city— Wisdom shall see Your name:“ Hear the Rod! Who has appointed it?
