午夜魑魅不爾擾。中晝群魔不爾殄。

He stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was halted.

The Lord protects you; the Lord is a shelter right by your side.The sun will not strike you by day or the moon by night.

You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet.For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

They all ate the same spiritual food,and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness.Now these things became examples for us, so that we will not desire evil things as they did.Don’t become idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and got up to play.Let us not commit sexual immorality as some of them did, and in a single day 23,000 people fell dead.Let us not test Christ as some of them did and were destroyed by snakes.Nor should we complain as some of them did, and were killed by the destroyer.

That night the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning— there were all the dead bodies!

Now at midnight the Lord struck every firstborn male in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner who was in the dungeon, and every firstborn of the livestock.During the night Pharaoh got up, he along with all his officials and all the Egyptians, and there was a loud wailing throughout Egypt because there wasn’t a house without someone dead.

So the Lord sent a plague on Israel from that morning until the appointed time, and from Dan to Beer-sheba 70,000 men died.
