夜之驚駭、晝之飛矢、

夕有患難、晝有流矢、中宵遘疾疫、亭午逢喪敗、爾俱無所畏兮、

使爾不懼黑夜之震驚、白晝之飛箭、

夜間無有諸恐怖。白日無慮中飛箭。

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

You won’t have to be afraid of the terrors that come during the night. You won’t have to fear the arrows that come at you during the day.

From six calamities he will rescue you; in seven no harm will touch you.In famine he will deliver you from death, and in battle from the stroke of the sword.You will be protected from the lash of the tongue, and need not fear when destruction comes.You will laugh at destruction and famine, and need not fear the wild animals.For you will have a covenant with the stones of the field, and the wild animals will be at peace with you.You will know that your tent is secure; you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing.You will know that your children will be many, and your descendants like the grass of the earth.You will come to the grave in full vigor, like sheaves gathered in season.“ We have examined this, and it is true. So we say with confidence,“ The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (niv)

Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, (niv)

I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. (niv)

They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. (niv)

The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. (niv)

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, (niv)

He replied,“ You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. (niv)

Amid disquieting dreams in the night, when deep sleep falls on people,fear and trembling seized me and made all my bones shake.A spirit glided past my face, and the hair on my body stood on end. (niv)

for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another,“ Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!” (niv)

My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. (niv)

“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ (niv)

all of them wearing the sword, all experienced in battle, each with his sword at his side, prepared for the terrors of the night. (niv)

But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. (niv)

When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up, kills the poor and needy, and in the night steals forth like a thief.The eye of the adulterer watches for dusk; he thinks,‘ No eye will see me,’ and he keeps his face concealed.In the dark, thieves break into houses, but by day they shut themselves in; they want nothing to do with the light. (niv)

He drew his bow and made me the target for his arrows.He pierced my heart with arrows from his quiver. (niv)

The arrows of the Almighty are in me, my spirit drinks in their poison; God’s terrors are marshaled against me. (niv)
