O Lord, I have heard your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.

We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us, The deeds You did in their days, In days of old:

For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands.

He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.

then you shall let your children know, saying,‘ Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land’;for the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over,that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”

‘ Moreover your little ones and your children, who you say will be victims, who today have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.

I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds.

Now if You kill these people as one man, then the nations which have heard of Your fame will speak, saying,‘ Because the Lord was not able to bring this people to the land which He swore to give them, therefore He killed them in the wilderness.’And now, I pray, let the power of my Lord be great, just as You have spoken, saying,‘ The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.’Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”Then the Lord said:“ I have pardoned, according to your word;but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord—because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice,they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it.But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.

“ Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed.

Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.But your little ones, whom you said would be victims, I will bring in, and they shall know the land which you have despised.
