When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.

When I’m in trouble, I will call out to you. And you will answer me.

O Lord, in distress they sought you; they poured out a whispered prayer when your discipline was upon them.

“ I called on your name, O Lord, from the depths of the pit;you heard my plea,‘ Do not close your ear to my cry for help!’You came near when I called on you; you said,‘ Do not fear!’

With my voice I cry out to the Lord; with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord.

When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.

When my spirit faints within me, you know my way! In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.
