O God, the nations have invaded your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple, they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble.

God, an army from the nations has attacked your land. They have polluted your holy temple. They have completely destroyed Jerusalem.

O God, the nations have come into your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in ruins.

O God, pagan nations have conquered your land, your special possession. They have defiled your holy Temple and made Jerusalem a heap of ruins.

God, the nations have invaded your inheritance, desecrated your holy temple, and turned Jerusalem into ruins.

They burned God’s house, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burned all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all of its valuable vessels.

God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance: Mount Zion, in which you have lived.Lift up your feet to the perpetual ruins, all the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary.Your adversaries have roared in the middle of your assembly. The adversary has spread out his hand on all her pleasant things; for she has seen that the nations have entered into her sanctuary, concerning whom you commanded that they should not enter into your assembly.

Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against him, and bound him in fetters to carry him to Babylon.Nebuchadnezzar also carried some of the vessels of Yahweh’s house to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden( now the Chaldeans were against the city around it); and the king went by the way of the Arabah.But the Chaldean army pursued the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.Then they captured the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they passed judgment on him.They killed Zedekiah’s sons before his eyes, then put out Zedekiah’s eyes, bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon.Now in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.He burned Yahweh’s house, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, he burned with fire.All the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down the walls around Jerusalem.

They have burned your sanctuary to the ground. They have profaned the dwelling place of your Name.They said in their heart,“ We will crush them completely.” They have burned up all the places in the land where God was worshiped.

You will bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Yahweh, which you have made for yourself to dwell in; the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established.

He burned Yahweh’s house, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, he burned with fire.

The king of Egypt removed him from office at Jerusalem, and fined the land one hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.The king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. Neco took Joahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

He carried out from there all the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold, which Solomon king of Israel had made in Yahweh’s temple, as Yahweh had said.

therefore Yahweh the God of Israel says,‘ Behold, I bring such evil on Jerusalem and Judah that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of Ahab’s house; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance, and deliver them into the hands of their enemies. They will become a prey and a plunder to all their enemies,because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’”Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; in addition to his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight.

Therefore he brought on them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or gray- headed. He gave them all into his hand.

from following the ewes that have their young, he brought him to be the shepherd of Jacob, his people, and Israel, his inheritance.

He said to them,“ Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” They went out, and struck in the city.

I was angry with my people. I profaned my inheritance and gave them into your hand. You showed them no mercy. You laid a very heavy yoke on the aged.

They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

The Chaldeans burned the king’s house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.

As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty; but they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things therein. Therefore I have made it to them as an unclean thing.I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a plunder; and they will profane it.

Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don’t measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty- two months.

Why have you broken down its walls, so that all those who pass by the way pluck it?The boar out of the wood ravages it. The wild animals of the field feed on it.
