O God, the nations have invaded your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple, they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble.

O God, pagan nations have conquered your land, your special possession. They have defiled your holy Temple and made Jerusalem a heap of ruins.

Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed[ as] a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed[ like] a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.

They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled[ by casting down] the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance,[ in] the place, O LORD,[ which] thou hast made for thee to dwell in,[ in] the Sanctuary, O Lord,[ which] thy hands have established.

Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I[ am] bringing[ such] evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as[ a man] wipeth a dish, wiping[ it], and turning[ it] upside down.And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;Because they have done[ that which was] evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing[ that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD.

Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave[ them] all into his hand.

From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

And the Chaldeans burned the king’s house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.

As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations[ and] of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.

But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty[ and] two months.

Why hast thou[ then] broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
