But God is the Judge; He puts down one and exalts another.

It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.

God is the one who judges. He says to one person,“ You are guilty.” To another he says,“ You are not guilty.”

but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another.

It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall.

for God is the Judge: He brings down one and exalts another.

He has brought down rulers from their thrones, And has exalted those who were humble.

It is He who changes the times and the periods; He removes kings and appoints kings; He gives wisdom to wise men, And knowledge to people of understanding.It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.

The Lord supports the afflicted; He brings the wicked down to the ground.

You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

The Lord makes poor and rich; He humbles, He also exalts.He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the garbage heap To seat them with nobles, And He gives them a seat of honor as an inheritance; For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He set the world on them.

So Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to your neighbor, who is better than you.

But David said to Michal,“ I was before the Lord, who preferred me to your father and to all his house, to appoint me as ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. So I will celebrate before the Lord!

Now Abner had a consultation with the elders of Israel, saying,“ In times past you were seeking for David to be king over you.Now then, do it! For the Lord has spoken regarding David, saying,‘ By the hand of My servant David I will save My people Israel from the hand of the Philistines, and from the hands of all their enemies.’ ”

Order them to go to their masters, saying,‘ This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says:“ This is what you shall say to your masters:‘ I have made the earth, mankind, and the animals which are on the face of the earth by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and I will give it to the one who is pleasing in My sight.And now I have handed all these lands over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and I have also given him the animals of the field to serve him.All the nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson until the time of his own land comes; then many nations and great kings will make him their servant.‘ And it will be that the nation or the kingdom which will not serve him, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, I will punish that nation with the sword, with famine, and with plague,’ declares the Lord,‘ until I have eliminated it by his hand.

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, because I have chosen a king for Myself among his sons.”

He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the garbage heap,To seat them with noblemen, With the noblemen of His people.

Previously, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and in. And the Lord said to you,‘ You will shepherd My people Israel, and you will be a leader over Israel.’ ”

For rebellion is as reprehensible as the sin of divination, And insubordination is as reprehensible as false religion and idolatry. Since you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has also rejected you from being king.”

But when He who had set me apart even from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace was pleased

And people will say,“ There certainly is a reward for the righteous; There certainly is a God who judges on the earth!”

O king, the Most High God granted sovereignty, greatness, honor, and majesty to Nebuchadnezzar your father.

You, O king, are the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength, and the honor;

For if their rejection proves to be the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
