“ What does God know?” they ask.“ Does the Most High even know what’s happening?”

他們說：神怎能曉得？至高者豈有知識呢？

他們說：「上帝怎能曉得？至高者哪會知道呢？」

他們說：「神怎能曉得？至高者哪會知道呢？」

他們說：「上帝怎能知道？至高者會察覺嗎？」

他們說：“神怎會曉得？至高者有知識嗎？”

他們說：『上帝怎能曉得？至高者哪能知道？』

他們說：「神怎能知道呢？至高者有知識嗎？」

彼曰、上帝焉得知、至高者豈有識乎、

維彼有言、謂至高之上帝、焉能鑒察兮、

曰、天主有何分曉、至上之主有何見識、

意謂主無知。高高何所矚。

They say,“ How would God know? Does the Most High know anything?”

They say,“ How would God know what we’re doing? Does the Most High God know anything?”

And they say,“ How can God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”

The wicked say,“ How can God know? Does the Most High know everything?”

They say,“ How does God know? And is there knowledge with the Most High?”

And they say,“ How does God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?”

And they say, How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?

The wicked say,“ How can God know? Does the Most High know everything?”

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

They say,“ How does God know what we do? Is the sovereign one aware of what goes on?”

They say,“ How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”

“ I will search with lanterns in Jerusalem’s darkest corners to punish those who sit complacent in their sins. They think the Lord will do nothing to them, either good or bad.

But you reply,‘ That’s why God can’t see what I am doing! How can he judge through the thick darkness?For thick clouds swirl about him, and he cannot see us. He is way up there, walking on the vault of heaven.’

Then the Lord said to me,“ Son of man, have you seen what the leaders of Israel are doing with their idols in dark rooms? They are saying,‘ The Lord doesn’t see us; he has deserted our land!’”

“ The Lord isn’t looking,” they say,“ and besides, the God of Israel doesn’t care.”

Its people don’t realize that I am watching them. Their sinful deeds are all around them, and I see them all.

They boast against the very heavens, and their words strut throughout the earth.

God would surely have known it, for he knows the secrets of every heart.

The wicked think,“ God isn’t watching us! He has closed his eyes and won’t even see what we do!”

O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!
