They attack those you have wounded. They talk about the pain of those you have hurt.

願其居室之成墟。

For they persecute those you wound and talk about the pain of those you hurt.

For they persecute him whom you have struck down, and they recount the pain of those you have wounded.

To the one you have punished, they add insult to injury; they add to the pain of those you have hurt.

For they persecute the one you struck and talk about the pain of those you wounded.

For they have persecuted him whom You Yourself struck, And they tell of the pain of those whom You have wounded.

For they persecute the ones You have struck, And talk of the grief of those You have wounded.

For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; And they tell of the sorrow of those whom thou hast wounded.

For they persecute the one You struck and talk about the pain of those You wounded.

For they persecute[ him] whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.

For they harass the one whom you discipline; they spread the news about the suffering of those whom you punish.

For they persecute him whom you have wounded. They tell of the sorrow of those whom you have hurt.

He suffered the things we should have suffered. He took on himself the pain that should have been ours. But we thought God was punishing him. We thought God was wounding him and making him suffer.

And I am very angry with the nations that feel secure. I was only a little angry with my people. But the nations went too far and tried to wipe them out.”

But a prophet of the Lord was there. His name was Oded. When the army returned to Samaria, he went out to meet them. He said to them,“ The Lord is the God of your people. He was very angry with Judah. So he handed them over to you. But you have killed them. Your anger reached all the way to heaven.

The Lord says,“ It was my plan to crush him and cause him to suffer. I made his life an offering to pay for sin. But he will see all his children after him. In fact, he will continue to live. My plan will be brought about through him.

“ My sword, wake up! Attack my shepherd! Attack the man who is close to me,” announces the Lord who rules over all.“ Strike down the shepherd. Then the sheep will be scattered. And I will turn my hand against their little ones.

They never thought about doing anything kind. Instead, they drove those who were poor and needy to their deaths. They did the same thing to those whose hearts were broken.

“ Have pity on me, my friends! Please have pity! God has struck me down with his powerful hand.Why do you chase after me as he does? Aren’t you satisfied with what you have done to me already?

They crucified with him two rebels against Rome. One was on his right and one was on his left.

The Jews who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets also forced us to leave. They do not please God. They are enemies of everyone.
