When our sins became too much for us, you forgave our lawless acts.

When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions.

When iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions.

Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all.

Iniquities overwhelm me; only you can atone for our rebellions.

Wrongdoings prevail against me; As for our offenses, You forgive them.

Iniquities prevail against me; As for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them.

Our record of sins overwhelms me, but you forgive our acts of rebellion.

Sins overwhelmed me, but you atoned for our transgressions.

My guilt has become too much for me. It is a load too heavy to carry.

But Christ offered himself to God without any flaw. He did this through the power of the eternal Holy Spirit. So how much cleaner will the blood of Christ make us! It washes away our feelings of guilt for committing sin. Sin always leads to death. But now we can serve the living God.

He touched my mouth with the coal. He said,“ This has touched your lips. Your guilt has been taken away. Your sin has been paid for.”

God our Savior, help us. Then glory will come to you. Save us and forgive our sins. Then people will honor your name.

May grace and peace come to you from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness, so what he has shown can be trusted. He was the first to rise from the dead. He rules over the kings of the earth. Glory and power belong to Jesus Christ who loves us! He has set us free from our sins by pouring out his blood for us.

There are more troubles all around me than I can count. My sins have caught up with me, and I can’t see any longer. My sins are more than the hairs of my head. I have lost all hope.

“ At that time a fountain will be opened for the benefit of David’s family line. It will also bless the others who live in Jerusalem. It will wash away their sins. It will make them pure and‘ clean.’

The desires controlled by sin do not want what the Spirit delights in. And the Spirit does not want what the desires controlled by sin delight in. The two are at war with each other. That’s why you are not supposed to do whatever you want.

Wash away all the evil things I’ve done. Make me pure from my sin.I know the lawless acts I’ve committed. I can’t forget my sin.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him. John said,“ Look! The Lamb of God! He takes away the sin of the world!

Then Nathan said to David,“ You are the man! The Lord, the God of Israel, says,‘ I anointed you king over Israel. I saved you from Saul.I gave you everything that belonged to your master Saul. I even put his wives into your arms. I made you king over all the people of Israel and Judah. And if all of that had not been enough for you, I would have given you even more.Why did you turn your back on what I told you to do? You did what is evil in my sight. You made sure that Uriah, the Hittite, would be killed in battle. You took his wife to be your own. You let the men of Ammon kill him with their swords.So time after time members of your own royal house will be killed with swords. That’s because you turned your back on me. You took the wife of Uriah, the Hittite, to be your own.’“ The Lord also says,‘ I am going to bring trouble on you. It will come from your own family. I will take your wives away. Your own eyes will see it. I will give your wives to a man who is close to you. He will sleep with them in the middle of the day.You committed your sins in secret. But I will make sure that the man commits his sin in the middle of the day. Everyone in Israel will see it.’ ”Then David said to Nathan,“ I have sinned against the Lord.” Nathan replied,“ The Lord has taken away your sin. You aren’t going to die.

The people of Jerusalem say,“ Don’t laugh when we suffer, you enemies of ours! We have fallen. But we’ll get up. Even though we sit in the dark, the Lord will give us light.We’ve sinned against the Lord. So he is angry with us. His anger will continue until he takes up our case. Then he’ll do what is right for us. He’ll bring us out into the light. Then we’ll see him save us.

“ Come. Let us settle this matter,” says the Lord.“ Even though your sins are bright red, they will be as white as snow. Even though they are deep red, they will be white like wool.But you have to be willing to change and obey me. If you are, you will eat the good things that grow on the land.

But I see another law working in me. It fights against the law of my mind. It makes me a prisoner of the law of sin. That law controls me.What a terrible failure I am! Who will save me from this sin that brings death to my body?I give thanks to God who saves me. He saves me through Jesus Christ our Lord. So in my mind I am a slave to God’s law. But sin controls my desires. So I am a slave to the law of sin.

Sprinkle me with hyssop, then I will be clean. Wash me, then I will be whiter than snow.
