You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.

You bring the year to a close with huge crops. You provide more than enough food.

It was I who sent this great destroying army against you.Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the Lord your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people be disgraced.

I am giving you a promise now while the seed is still in the barn. You have not yet harvested your grain, and your grapevines, fig trees, pomegranates, and olive trees have not yet produced their crops. But from this day onward I will bless you.”

For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.

He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.

You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights.

Simpletons are clothed with foolishness, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

Yet for a little while you made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.You gave them authority over all things.” Now when it says“ all things,” it means nothing is left out. The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.

you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds. You make the clouds your chariot; you ride upon the wings of the wind.

The rain pours down from the clouds, and everyone benefits.

Who knows? Perhaps he will give you a reprieve, sending you a blessing instead of this curse. Perhaps you will be able to offer grain and wine to the Lord your God as before.

But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree— some of the people of Israel— have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God’s special olive tree.
