彼眾礪舌如刃、以苦語為矢、而擬準兮、

彼世人兮、礪其舌鋒、猶之利刃、出其語剌、無異發矢兮、

彼眾礪其舌鋒、猶如利刃、毒言出口、如箭離弦、

群小紛紜。橫行無度。祈主保我。莫為所誣。

They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.

They make their tongues like sharp swords. They aim their mean words like deadly arrows.

They sharpen their tongues like a sword; they aim their arrow, a slanderous charge,

There is one who speaks rashly, like a piercing sword; but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

I am surrounded by lions; I lie down with those who devour men. Their teeth are spears and arrows; their tongues are sharp swords.

And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the whole body, sets the course of life on fire, and is set on fire by hell.Every sea creature, reptile, bird, or animal is tamed and has been tamed by man,but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

For look, the wicked string the bow; they put the arrow on the bowstring to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.

No weapon formed against you will succeed, and you will refute any accusation raised against you in court. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from Me.” This is the Lord’s declaration.

They bent their tongues like their bows; lies and not faithfulness prevail in the land, for they proceed from one evil to another, and they do not take Me into account. This is the Lord’s declaration.

There is a generation whose teeth are swords, whose fangs are knives, devouring the oppressed from the land and the needy from among mankind.
