彼眾礪舌如刃、以苦語為矢、而擬準兮、

彼世人兮、礪其舌鋒、猶之利刃、出其語剌、無異發矢兮、

彼眾礪其舌鋒、猶如利刃、毒言出口、如箭離弦、

群小紛紜。橫行無度。祈主保我。莫為所誣。

They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.

They make their tongues like sharp swords. They aim their mean words like deadly arrows.

願他們如流水逝去，願他們彎弓搭箭時箭頭折斷。

出言不慎猶如利劍傷人，智者之言卻能醫治創傷。

我被獅子包圍，躺臥在吃人的野獸中。他們的牙齒是矛和箭，舌頭是尖刀。

舌頭就是火，是我們身體上的一個充滿邪惡的世界，能玷污人的全身，足以毀掉人的一生，它是從地獄點燃的火。自然界中的各類走獸、飛禽、爬蟲、水族都可以被馴服，也已經被人類馴服了，但無人能馴服自己的舌頭，因為舌頭是個無法控制的邪惡之物，充滿了致命的毒氣。

看啊，惡人彎弓搭箭，要暗射心地正直的人。

為攻擊你而造的兵器必不能奏效，你必駁倒控告你的人。這是耶和華眾僕人的產業，是我給他們的勝利。這是耶和華說的。」

耶和華說：「他們鼓舌如簧，射出謊言，遍地充滿詭詐，毫無誠實；他們行惡不斷，不認我是上帝。

有一種人牙如劍，齒如刀，要吞吃世間的困苦人和貧窮人。
