God has spoken from his sanctuary:“ In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth.

God has spoken from his temple. He has said,“ I will win the battle. Then I will divide up the land around Shechem. I will divide up the Valley of Sukkoth.

God has spoken in his holiness:“ With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Vale of Succoth.

God has promised this by his holiness:“ I will divide up Shechem with joy. I will measure out the valley of Succoth.

God has spoken in his sanctuary:“ I will celebrate! I will divide up Shechem. I will apportion the Valley of Succoth.

You have also spoken about the future of your servant’s family. Is this your usual way of dealing with men, O LORD God?What more can David say to you? You have given your servant special recognition, O LORD God!

All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron saying,“ Look, we are your very flesh and blood!In the past, when Saul was our king, you were the real leader in Israel. The LORD said to you,‘ You will shepherd my people Israel; you will rule over Israel.’”When all the leaders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, King David made an agreement with them in Hebron before the LORD. They designated David as king over Israel.

Now Abner son of Ner, the general in command of Saul’s army, had taken Saul’s son Ish-bosheth and had brought him to Mahanaim.He appointed him king over Gilead, the Geshurites, Jezreel, Ephraim, Benjamin, and all Israel.

Then you spoke through a vision to your faithful followers and said:“ I have energized a warrior; I have raised up a young man from the people.

The LORD made a reliable promise to David; he will not go back on his word. He said,“ I will place one of your descendants on your throne.

But Jacob traveled to Succoth where he built himself a house and made shelters for his livestock. That is why the place was called Succoth.After he left Paddan Aram, Jacob came safely to the city of Shechem in the land of Canaan, and he camped near the city.

So they selected Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath Arba( that is, Hebron) in the hill country of Judah.

The bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the part of the field that Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem, for one hundred pieces of money. So it became the inheritance of the tribe of Joseph.

The border of Manasseh went from Asher to Micmethath which is near Shechem. It then went south toward those who live in Tappuah.

And blessed is she who believed that what was spoken to her by the Lord would be fulfilled.”And Mary said,“ My soul exalts the Lord,and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Savior,

Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my royal scepter.Moab is my wash basin. I will make Edom serve me. I will shout in triumph over Philistia.”Who will lead me into the fortified city? Who will bring me to Edom?Have you not rejected us, O God? O God, you do not go into battle with our armies.Give us help against the enemy, for any help men might offer is futile.By God’s power we will conquer; he will trample down our enemies.

Joshua assembled all the Israelite tribes at Shechem. He summoned Israel’s elders, rulers, judges, and leaders, and they appeared before God.

Here is what the LORD says concerning the false prophets: My heart and my mind are deeply disturbed. I tremble all over. I am like a drunk person, like a person who has had too much wine, because of the way the LORD and his holy word are being mistreated.

Act now! For the LORD has said to David,‘ By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel from the Philistines and from all their enemies.’”
