使他們知道：惟獨你－名為耶和華的－是全地以上的至高者！

願惡人的惡斷絕！願你堅立義人！因為公義的神察驗人的心腸肺腑。

願罪人從世上消滅！願惡人歸於無有！我的心哪，要稱頌耶和華！你們要讚美耶和華！

原來我知道耶和華為大，也知道我們的主超乎萬神之上。耶和華在天上，在地下，在海中，在一切的深處，都隨自己的意旨而行。

「我要在我民以色列中顯出我的聖名，也不容我的聖名再被褻瀆，列國人就知道我是耶和華－以色列中的聖者。

你們要休息，要知道我是神！我必在外邦中被尊崇，在遍地上也被尊崇。萬軍之耶和華與我們同在；雅各的神是我們的避難所！

耶和華的怒氣向以色列人發作，使他們在曠野飄流四十年，等到在耶和華眼前行惡的那一代人都消滅了。

我必顯為大，顯為聖，在多國人的眼前顯現；他們就知道我是耶和華。」

耶和華－我們的神啊，現在求你救我們脫離亞述王的手，使天下萬國都知道惟獨你－耶和華是神！」

自從離開加低斯‧巴尼亞，到過了撒烈溪的時候，共有三十八年，等那世代的兵丁都從營中滅盡，正如耶和華向他們所起的誓。耶和華的手也攻擊他們，將他們從營中除滅，直到滅盡。「兵丁從民中都滅盡死亡以後，

今日耶和華必將你交在我手裏。我必殺你，斬你的頭，又將非利士軍兵的屍首給空中的飛鳥、地上的野獸吃，使普天下的人都知道以色列中有神；又使這眾人知道耶和華使人得勝，不是用刀用槍，因為爭戰的勝敗全在乎耶和華。他必將你們交在我們手裏。」

你必被趕出離開世人，與野地的獸同居，吃草如牛，被天露滴濕，且要經過七期。等你知道至高者在人的國中掌權，要將國賜與誰就賜與誰。

不要殺他們，恐怕我的民忘記。主啊，你是我們的盾牌；求你用你的能力使他們四散，且降為卑。

到了獻晚祭的時候，先知以利亞近前來，說：「亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的神，耶和華啊，求你今日使人知道你是以色列的神，也知道我是你的僕人，又是奉你的命行這一切事。耶和華啊，求你應允我，應允我！使這民知道你－耶和華是神，又知道是你叫這民的心回轉。」

按你們窺探那地的四十日，一年頂一日，你們要擔當罪孽四十年，就知道我與你們疏遠了，我－耶和華說過，我總要這樣待這一切聚集敵我的惡會眾；他們必在這曠野消滅，在這裏死亡。』」

耶和華－你神必將這些國的民從你面前漸漸趕出；你不可把他們速速滅盡，恐怕野地的獸多起來害你。耶和華－你神必將他們交給你，大大地擾亂他們，直到他們滅絕了；

因為造你的是你的丈夫；萬軍之耶和華是他的名。救贖你的是以色列的聖者；他必稱為全地之神。
