For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. For the curses and lies they utter,

因其口之罪、脣之辭、及其呪詛誑誕、任其為驕慢所縛兮、

彼驕泰詭譎、厥口詛咒、求主降罰、適當其罪兮。

其唇邊之言語、即其口中之罪孽、因驕傲、因出詈言誑語、必被拘困、

惟毋遽加剪滅兮。恐吾民因無敵而荒怠。願鼎力以驅逐之兮。使其不復為吾族之害。

They have sinned with their mouths. Their lips have spoken evil words. They have cursed me and lied. Let them be caught in their pride.

For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips, let them be trapped in their pride. For the cursing and lies that they utter,

Because of the sinful things they say, because of the evil that is on their lips, let them be captured by their pride, their curses, and their lies.

What will he do to you, and what more besides, you deceitful tongue?He will punish you with a warrior’s sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom bush.

The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.

But they insisted,“ He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.”

Pay back into the laps of our neighbors seven times the contempt they have hurled at you, Lord.

On that day you, Jerusalem, will not be put to shame for all the wrongs you have done to me, because I will remove from you your arrogant boasters. Never again will you be haughty on my holy hill.

He loved to pronounce a curse— may it come back on him. He found no pleasure in blessing— may it be far from him.He wore cursing as his garment; it entered into his body like water, into his bones like oil.

Those who surround me proudly rear their heads; may the mischief of their lips engulf them.May burning coals fall on them; may they be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, never to rise.

you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth.

All the people answered,“ His blood is on us and on our children!”

But God will shoot them with his arrows; they will suddenly be struck down.He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
