I am in the midst of lions; I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts— men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.

此情主應見。寧能長默默。祈速保吾命。莫為群獅食。

眈眈如餓虎。其勢不可遏。又如彼伏獅。穴中覷過客。懇切求恩主。興起戮妖孽。用爾干與戈。救我脫橫逆。

舌猶火也、亦眾惡之府也；深藏我百體之中、而玷污我七尺之軀、引上地獄之火、而焚燬我生命之輪。

健牡紛紛兮。圍我周匝。來自巴珊兮。洶洶相逼。猛如餓獅兮。張口欲食。體渙解兮骨脫。心消融兮如蠟。喉焦如礫兮舌貼齶。身被委棄兮轉溝壑。

婦曰：『先生既無汲水之具、而井又深、將何從而得活水乎？昔吾祖遺吾人以斯井、既自取飲、更欲以飲其子孫及其六畜；今先生豈尤偉於吾祖乎？』

彼口吐利刃、以擊萬邦；手執鐵杖、以牧元元；足踐酒醡、以洩全能天主之義憤；

耽耽虎視。窮民遭殃。

群犬晚歸兮。舉狺狺而吠予。
