说：“看哪，这就是那不以神为他力量的人，只倚仗他丰富的财物，在邪恶上坚立自己。”

看哪，这就是那不以上帝为保障的人，他只倚靠丰富的财物，在邪恶上坚立自己。

“看啊，这就是不依靠上帝的人，他只倚仗自己的财富和以残暴手段获得的权势。”

“看哪！这就是那不以神为自己保障的人，他只倚靠自己丰盛的财富，以毁灭别人来加强自己的力量。”

“看哪，这个人不把神当作自己的保障，他依靠自己丰盛的财富，靠自己的奸恶得胜。”

說：看哪，這就是那不以神為他力量的人，只倚仗他豐富的財物，在邪惡上堅立自己。

云、不仰賴天主保護、惟恃己之多財、盡力作惡者、即是此人、

誰知天網恢恢兮。將滅爾以終古。逐爾於家室之外兮。除爾於永生之圃。

嘿，作買賣的！他手裏有詭詐的天平，他愛敲竹槓騙人。以法蓮為自己辯護說：『啊，我居然成了巨富了，我為自己得了貨財了』；但他獲得的利必不足以抵銷他所犯的罪。

永恆主這麼說：『那倚靠世人、以人的血肉為自己的膀臂、其心卻轉離永恆主的、那種人該受咒詛。

啊，你實在把他們安在滑地，使他們掉在完全荒廢的地步。一眨眼間他們怎樣地成了荒涼啊！他們全都被可怕的災難滅盡了。就像個夢，醒了以後、便歸無有；你起來，就看不到其影像。

沒有人有權力掌管着生氣，將生氣留住；也沒有人有權力掌管着死的日子：戰爭上並沒有免役的事；邪惡也不能使那好行邪惡的逃脫。

於是耶穌出來到外邊，戴着荊棘華冠，穿着紫色衣裳！彼拉多對他們說：『看哪，這個人！』

那些倚仗資財、自誇財富多的人、一個也不能買贖自己，不能將贖價交給上帝，使他永久活着，不見冥坑；因為贖他性命的價值極貴，他只好永遠罷休，勿圖自贖。

現今世富足的人呢、你要囑咐他們別存着高傲的心，不要把盼望釘住於財富之無定上，卻要釘住於那將萬物豐豐富富供給我們享受、的上帝；

下流人不過是虛幻，上流人乃是虛假；放在天平裏就浮起；一概是噓氣。不要靠勒索之利，也不要因搶奪而變為虛妄；資財若生息增加，不要放在心上。

『看見你的都必定睛看你，仔細打量你，說：「那使大地戰抖，使列國震動，使世界如荒野，將城市翻毁，不開釋被擄之人回家的，是這個人麼？」

他們的罪孽因體胖而生出；他們心裏所狂想的橫流瀰漫。他們譏笑人，憑着壞心意說話：居高臨下地說欺壓人的話語。他們肆口褻瀆上天，他們的舌頭游擊了全地。因此他們飽喫了食物，也喝了充盛的水。他們說：『上帝怎能曉得？至高者哪能知道？』

不要倚靠王子，不要依靠世人，他一點也不能救助。他氣一斷，就回歸塵土；他所打算的、當天就消滅。以雅各之上帝為助力，專仰望永恆主他的上帝的，這人有福啊！

『我若以金子為我所安心信賴的，而對黃金說：「你是我所倚靠」；我若因資財之豐裕，因我手多有所得、而歡喜；
