For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.

I know the lawless acts I’ve committed. I can’t forget my sin.

For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night.

For I am conscious of my rebellion, and my sin is always before me.

For I know my wrongdoings, And my sin is constantly before me.

He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said,“ I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’“ And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.And the son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

‘ But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their guilt—

Then those of Israelite lineage separated themselves from all foreigners; and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.

Then he looks at men and says,‘ I have sinned, and perverted what was right, And it did not profit me.’

We lie down in our shame, And our reproach covers us. For we have sinned against the Lord our God, We and our fathers, From our youth even to this day, And have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”

For innumerable evils have surrounded me; My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head; Therefore my heart fails me.
