They are like sheep and are destined to die; death will be their shepherd( but the upright will prevail over them in the morning). Their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions.

They are like sheep and will end up in the grave. Death will be their shepherd. But when honest people come to power, a new day will dawn. The bodies of sinners will waste away in the grave. They will end up far away from their princely houses.

Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol; death shall be their shepherd, and the upright shall rule over them in the morning. Their form shall be consumed in Sheol, with no place to dwell.

Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.

until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the holy people of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom.

Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?

I know you will bring me down to death, to the place appointed for all the living.

As heat and drought snatch away the melted snow, so the grave snatches away those who have sinned.The womb forgets them, the worm feasts on them; the wicked are no longer remembered but are broken like a tree.

When you rebuke and discipline anyone for their sin, you consume their wealth like a moth— surely everyone is but a breath.

so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

As it is written:“ For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forget God.

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

You gave us up to be devoured like sheep and have scattered us among the nations.

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.( The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.

Are not the cords of their tent pulled up, so that they die without wisdom?’

Side by side they lie in the dust, and worms cover them both.

To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations—that one‘ will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’— just as I have received authority from my Father.

But the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever— yes, for ever and ever.’

They spend their years in prosperity and go down to the grave in peace.

Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”

I said,“ In the prime of my life must I go through the gates of death and be robbed of the rest of my years?”I said,“ I will not again see the Lord himself in the land of the living; no longer will I look on my fellow man, or be with those who now dwell in this world.

If the only home I hope for is the grave, if I spread out my bed in the realm of darkness,if I say to corruption,‘ You are my father,’ and to the worm,‘ My mother’ or‘ My sister,’

and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Yet you know me, Lord; you see me and test my thoughts about you. Drag them off like sheep to be butchered! Set them apart for the day of slaughter!

He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet.
