There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

God’s blessings are like a river. They fill the city of God with joy. That city is the holy place where the Most High God lives.

A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High.

He showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,in the middle of its street. On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.There will be no curse any more. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will serve him.

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the abundance of your house. You will make them drink of the river of your pleasures.For with you is the spring of life. In your light we will see light.

He brought me back to the door of the house; and behold, waters flowed out from under the threshold of the house eastward, for the front of the house faced toward the east. The waters came down from underneath, from the right side of the house, on the south of the altar.Then he brought me out by the way of the gate northward, and led me around by the way outside to the outer gate, by the way of the gate that looks toward the east. Behold, waters ran out on the right side.When the man went out eastward with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the ankles.Again he measured one thousand, and caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the knees. Again he measured one thousand, and caused me to pass through waters that were to the waist.Afterward he measured one thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass through; for the waters had risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be walked through.He said to me,“ Son of man, have you seen?” Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the bank of the river.Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.Then he said to me,“ These waters flow out toward the eastern region, and will go down into the Arabah. Then they will go toward the sea; and flow into the sea which will be made to flow out; and the waters will be healed.It will happen, that every living creature which swarms, in every place where the rivers come, will live. Then there will be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters have come there, and the waters of the sea will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river comes.It will happen, that fishermen will stand by it. From En Gedi even to En Eglaim will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be after their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many.But the miry places of it, and its marshes, will not be healed. They will be given up to salt.By the river on its bank, on this side and on that side, will grow every tree for food, whose leaf won’t wither, neither will its fruit fail. It will produce new fruit every month, because its waters issue out of the sanctuary. Its fruit will be for food, and its leaf for healing.”

Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God. Selah.

As we have heard, so we have seen, in the city of Yahweh of Armies, in the city of our God. God will establish it forever. Selah.

He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.

“ Because this people has refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;now therefore, behold, the Lord brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks.

The sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you; and all those who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet. They will call you Yahweh’s City, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

but now I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.’

Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised, in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying,“ Behold, God’s dwelling is with people, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.

You visit the earth, and water it. You greatly enrich it. The river of God is full of water. You provide them grain, for so you have ordained it.

Oh that you had listened to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Oh, send out your light and your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy hill, to your tents.

But you, Yahweh, are on high forever more.

But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels,

He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

then it shall happen that to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the wave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to Yahweh.You shall rejoice before Yahweh your God— you, and your sons, your daughters, your male servants, your female servants, and the Levite who is within your gates, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you.

‘ For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.’”Then Yahweh’s angel went out and struck one hundred and eighty- five thousand men in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

It is a good thing to give thanks to Yahweh, to sing praises to your name, Most High,

How shall I come before Yahweh, and bow myself before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don’t marvel at the matter, for one official is eyed by a higher one, and there are officials over them.
