赫然驅車出。所向誰能當。右手施奇蹟。戡亂如探囊。

Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s enemies; let the nations fall beneath your feet.

Shoot your sharp arrows into the hearts of your enemies. Let the nations come under your control.

God brought him out of Egypt; he is like the horns of a wild ox for them. He will feed on enemy nations and gnaw their bones; he will strike them with his arrows.

Instead, you will put them to flight when you ready your bowstrings to shoot at them.

Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but on whomever it falls, it will shatter him.”Then the scribes and the chief priests looked for a way to get their hands on him that very hour, because they knew he had told this parable against them, but they feared the people.

So the word of God spread, the disciples in Jerusalem increased greatly in number, and a large group of priests became obedient to the faith.

But many of those who heard the message believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.

saying,“ If you knew this day what would bring peace— but now it is hidden from your eyes.For the days will come on you when your enemies will build a barricade around you, surround you, and hem you in on every side.They will crush you and your children among you to the ground, and they will not leave one stone on another in your midst, because you did not recognize the time when God visited you.”

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers conspire together against the LORD and his Anointed One:“ Let’s tear off their chains and throw their ropes off of us.”The one enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord ridicules them.Then he speaks to them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath:“ I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”I will declare the LORD’s decree. He said to me,“ You are my Son; today I have become your Father.Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance and the ends of the earth your possession.You will break them with an iron scepter; you will shatter them like pottery.”

So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added to them.

Say to God,“ How awe-inspiring are your works! Your enemies will cringe before you because of your great strength.The whole earth will worship you and sing praise to you. They will sing praise to your name.” Selah

For I will bend Judah as my bow; I will fill that bow with Ephraim. I will rouse your sons, Zion, against your sons, Greece. I will make you like a warrior’s sword.Then the LORD will appear over them, and his arrow will fly like lightning. The Lord GOD will sound the ram’s horn and advance with the southern storms.

When they heard these things, they were enraged and gnashed their teeth at him.

When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ Brothers, what should we do?”

Believers were added to the Lord in increasing numbers— multitudes of both men and women.

When they heard this, they were enraged and wanted to kill them.

For I would not dare say anything except what Christ has accomplished through me by word and deed for the obedience of the Gentiles,by the power of miraculous signs and wonders, and by the power of God’s Spirit. As a result, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum.
