何群逆之詭譎兮。惟殘害之為務。求主一測予之中情兮。吾固不與彼同度。主其伸予之冤兮。辨予之誣。

Vindicate me, my God, and plead my cause against an unfaithful nation. Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked.

My God, when you hand down your decision, let it be in my favor. Stand up for me against an unfaithful nation. Save me from those lying and sinful people.

Then someone reported to David,“ Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.”“ LORD,” David pleaded,“ please turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!”

for their Redeemer is strong, and he will champion their cause against you.

for God is the Judge: He brings down one and exalts another.

for the LORD will champion their cause and will plunder those who plunder them.

Because I have sinned against him, I must endure the LORD’s fury until he champions my cause and establishes justice for me. He will bring me into the light; I will see his salvation.

Deliver me, my God, from the power of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and oppressive.

For I am not conscious of anything against myself, but I am not justified by this. It is the Lord who judges me.

when he was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges justly.

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give me your advice. What should we do?”Ahithophel replied to Absalom,“ Sleep with your father’s concubines whom he left to take care of the palace. When all Israel hears that you have become repulsive to your father, everyone with you will be encouraged.”So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof, and he slept with his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.Now the advice Ahithophel gave in those days was like someone asking about a word from God— such was the regard that both David and Absalom had for Ahithophel’s advice.Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Let me choose twelve thousand men, and I will set out in pursuit of David tonight.I will attack him while he is weary and discouraged, throw him into a panic, and all the people with him will scatter. I will strike down only the kingand bring all the people back to you. When everyone returns except the man you’re looking for, all the people will be at peace.”This proposal seemed right to Absalom and all the elders of Israel.
