But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; And I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.

我如聾者不聞聲、瘖者不啟口、

我不言不聽、如聾如啞兮、

我如耳聾不聞、如瘖者不啟口、

仇人仍設網。殺我方甘心。群聚議詭計。終日出惡聲。

I am like the deaf, who cannot hear, like the mute, who cannot speak;

Like a deaf person, I can’t hear. Like someone who can’t speak, I can’t say a word.

But I am like a deaf man; I do not hear, like a mute man who does not open his mouth.

But I am deaf to all their threats. I am silent before them as one who cannot speak.

I am like a deaf person; I do not hear. I am like a speechless person who does not open his mouth.

But I, like a person who is deaf, do not hear; And I am like a person who cannot speak, who does not open his mouth.

But I, as a deaf man, hear not; And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.

But the king said,“ What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because the Lord has said to him,‘ Curse David.’ Who then shall say,‘ Why have you done so?’”And David said to Abishai and all his servants,“ See how my son who came from my own body seeks my life. How much more now may this Benjamite? Let him alone, and let him curse; for so the Lord has ordered him.It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction, and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing this day.”
