耶和华说：“我的百姓愚顽，不认识我；他们是愚昧无知的儿女，有智慧行恶，没有知识行善。”

我们若把嚼环放在马嘴里，叫它顺服，就能调动它的全身。

我留心听，听见他们说不正直的话。无人悔改恶行，说：‘我做的是什么呢？’他们各人转奔己路，如马直闯战场。空中的鹳鸟知道来去的定期；斑鸠燕子与白鹤也守候当来的时令；我的百姓却不知道耶和华的法则。

我听见以法莲为自己悲叹说：“你责罚我，我便受责罚，像不惯负轭的牛犊一样。求你使我回转，我便回转，因为你是耶和华我的神。
