Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.

因此敬虔之士、宜乘可尋之際禱爾、大水氾濫、必不相及兮、

因此敬虔之士、於見納之時、禱告於爾、即使洪水泛濫、災不及身、

因此凡虔誠人、當在可蒙主恩之時、祈求主、洪水氾濫、必不臨及其身、

傳語虔信。及時祈主。洪水不犯。主實砥柱。

Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.

Let everyone who is faithful pray to you while they can still look to you. When troubles come like a flood, they certainly won’t reach those who are faithful.

Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.

Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to you immediately. When great floodwaters come, they will not reach him.

For this let every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: Surely when the great waters overflow they shall not reach unto him.

Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to You at a time that You may be found. When great floodwaters come, they will not reach him.

For this reason every one of your faithful followers should pray to you while there is a window of opportunity. Certainly when the surging water rises, it will not reach them.

For this, let everyone who is godly pray to you in a time when you may be found. Surely when the great waters overflow, they shall not reach to him.

Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

For God says,“ At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the“ right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart.Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me.

You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him.

You will search for me but not find me. And you cannot go where I am going.”

He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.

Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way.For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

This is what the Lord says:“ At just the right time, I will respond to you. On the day of salvation I will help you. I will protect you and give you to the people as my covenant with them. Through you I will reestablish the land of Israel and assign it to its own people again.

And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,

“ Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand.When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

For forty days the floodwaters grew deeper, covering the ground and lifting the boat high above the earth.As the waters rose higher and higher above the ground, the boat floated safely on the surface.Finally, the water covered even the highest mountains on the earth,rising more than twenty two feet above the highest peaks.All the living things on earth died— birds, domestic animals, wild animals, small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the people.Everything that breathed and lived on dry land died.

But I keep praying to you, Lord, hoping this time you will show me favor. In your unfailing love, O God, answer my prayer with your sure salvation.Rescue me from the mud; don’t let me sink any deeper! Save me from those who hate me, and pull me from these deep waters.Don’t let the floods overwhelm me, or the deep waters swallow me, or the pit of death devour me.

The waters would have engulfed us; a torrent would have overwhelmed us.Yes, the raging waters of their fury would have overwhelmed our very lives.

Save me, O God, for the floodwaters are up to my neck.Deeper and deeper I sink into the mire; I can’t find a foothold. I am in deep water, and the floods overwhelm me.

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

Reach down from heaven and rescue me; rescue me from deep waters, from the power of my enemies.

“ When they cry for help, I will not answer. Though they anxiously search for me, they will not find me.

“ How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes.Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side.They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you.”

Then the dragon tried to drown the woman with a flood of water that flowed from his mouth.But the earth helped her by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that gushed out from the mouth of the dragon.

But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you.
