In panic I cried out,“ I am cut off from the Lord!” But you heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help.

我受驚恐時、我云、我已見絕於主之目前、然我呼籲主、主仍俯聽我祈求之聲、

偉哉造物主。待我恩何深。捍衛無不至。置我於堅城。

In my alarm I said,“ I am cut off from your sight!” Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help.

I was afraid and said,“ I’ve been cut off from you!” But you heard my cry for your favor. You heard me when I called out to you for help.

I had said in my alarm,“ I am cut off from your sight.” But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help.

As for me, I said in my alarm,“ I am cut off from Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the sound of my pleadings When I called to You for help.

For I said in my haste,“ I am cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried out to You.

As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: Nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications, When I cried unto thee.

In my alarm I had said,“ I am cut off from Your sight.” But You heard the sound of my pleading when I cried to You for help.

I jumped to conclusions and said,“ I am cut off from your presence!” But you heard my plea for mercy when I cried out to you for help.

In my anxiety I cried out to you,“ These people are all liars!”

Then he said to me,“ Son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel. They are saying,‘ We have become old, dry bones— all hope is gone. Our nation is finished.’

Then I said,‘ O Lord, you have driven me from your presence. Yet I will look once more toward your holy Temple.’

Your fierce anger has overwhelmed me. Your terrors have paralyzed me.

The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will answer my prayer.

You say you can’t see him, but he will bring justice if you will only wait.

Yet Jerusalem says,“ The Lord has deserted us; the Lord has forgotten us.”

The water rose over my head, and I cried out,“ This is the end!”But I called on your name, Lord, from deep within the pit.

While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God.

But David kept thinking to himself,“ Someday Saul is going to get me. The best thing I can do is escape to the Philistines. Then Saul will stop hunting for me in Israelite territory, and I will finally be safe.”

Don’t let me be disgraced, O Lord, for I call out to you for help. Let the wicked be disgraced; let them lie silent in the grave.

I said,“ In the prime of my life, must I now enter the place of the dead? Am I to be robbed of the rest of my years?”I said,“ Never again will I see the Lord God while still in the land of the living. Never again will I see my friends or be with those who live in this world.My life has been blown away like a shepherd’s tent in a storm. It has been cut short, as when a weaver cuts cloth from a loom. Suddenly, my life was over.

As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple.Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercies.But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the Lord alone.”

So the Lord sent the commanders of the Assyrian armies, and they took Manasseh prisoner. They put a ring through his nose, bound him in bronze chains, and led him away to Babylon.But while in deep distress, Manasseh sought the Lord his God and sincerely humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.And when he prayed, the Lord listened to him and was moved by his request. So the Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh finally realized that the Lord alone is God!

Then I said,“ It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”

Saul and David were now on opposite sides of a mountain. Just as Saul and his men began to close in on David and his men,
