予痛疾惡黨、杜絕匪類兮、

群小會集處。何曾敢廁足。

I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked.

I hate to be with a group of sinful people. I refuse to spend time with those who are evil.

I will not set anything worthless before my eyes. I hate the practice of transgression; it will not cling to me.A devious heart will be far from me; I will not be involved with evil.I will destroy anyone who secretly slanders his neighbor; I cannot tolerate anyone with haughty eyes or an arrogant heart.My eyes favor the faithful of the land so that they may sit down with me. The one who follows the way of integrity may serve me.No one who acts deceitfully will live in my palace; no one who tells lies will remain in my presence.Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, eliminating all evildoers from the Lord’s city.

How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers!

I wrote to you in a letter not to associate with sexually immoral people.I did not mean the immoral people of this world or the greedy and swindlers or idolaters; otherwise you would have to leave the world.But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer who is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or verbally abusive, a drunkard or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person.
