for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.

He set it firmly on the oceans. He made it secure on the waters.

for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.

For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths.

He laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved forever.You covered it with the deep as with a cloak. The waters stood above the mountains.

Don’t you fear me?’ says Yahweh‘ Won’t you tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it can’t pass it? Though its waves toss themselves, yet they can’t prevail. Though they roar, they still can’t pass over it.’

God said,“ Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear;” and it was so.God called the dry land“ earth”, and the gathering together of the waters he called“ seas”. God saw that it was good.

Say among the nations,“ Yahweh reigns.” The world is also established. It can’t be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.

“ You shall say this to them:‘ The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.’”God has made the earth by his power. He has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens.When he utters his voice, the waters in the heavens roar, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries.Every man has become brutish and without knowledge. Every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.They are vanity, a work of delusion. In the time of their visitation they will perish.The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the maker of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance: Yahweh of Armies is his name.

In his hand are the deep places of the earth. The heights of the mountains are also his.

For this they willfully forget that there were heavens from of old, and an earth formed out of water and amid water by the word of God,by which means the world that existed then, being overflowed with water, perished.But the heavens that exist now and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

Yahweh reigns! He is clothed with majesty! Yahweh is armed with strength. The world also is established. It can’t be moved.

“ Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.

By Yahweh’s word, the heavens were made: all their army by the breath of his mouth.

While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”

“ Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke out of the womb,when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness,marked out for it my bound, set bars and doors,and said,‘ You may come here, but no further. Your proud waves shall be stopped here?’
