耶穌已經快到橄欖山的下坡附近的時候，全體門徒為了他們所看見的一切神蹟，開始歡樂起來，大聲讚美神，

他是多麼善，多麼美！五穀使少男健壯，新酒使少女健美。

你因敵人的緣故，從幼童和嬰兒的口中，建立了能力，使仇敵和報復者啞口無言。

這樣，她們可以訓導年輕的婦女愛丈夫、愛兒女、自律、貞潔、善理家務、良善、服從自己的丈夫，免得神的話語受到褻瀆。同樣，你要鼓勵年輕的男人清醒自制；

祭司長們和經文士們看見耶穌所行的神蹟，又見孩子們在聖殿裡呼喊說：「和散那歸於大衛的後裔」，就很生氣。他們問耶穌：「你聽見這些小孩在說什麼嗎？」耶穌回答他們，說：「是的，聽見了。難道你們從來沒有讀過『從孩子和吃奶嬰兒的口中，你預備了讚美』這話嗎？」
