The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

The Lord watches over the outsiders who live in our land. He takes good care of children whose fathers have died. He also takes good care of widows. But he causes evil people to fail in everything they do.

The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.

上帝在其聖所、為孤兒之父、嫠婦之士師兮、

當遺爾孤子、我必全其生、爾之嫠婦、亦當恃我、

謙卑者、耶和華扶之、作惡者、傾之於地兮、

勿侮旅人而虐之、蓋爾曹在埃及、亦為旅也、勿苦孤寡、

我必蒞臨、行鞫於爾、凡巫覡及淫亂妄誓、負傭值、欺孤寡、屈賓旅、而不畏我者、我必亟證之、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、

為孤寡行鞫、為羇旅施仁、賜之衣食、爾亦當愛旅人、緣爾曾旅於埃及、

惡者之途、有若幽暗、遭遇顚躓、不知何因、○

遂以哈曼、懸於為末底改所備之木、王怒乃息、

夫眷顧孤寡於患難間、且自守不為斯世所染者、此則於我父上帝前、為純潔無玷之虔敬也、

蓋斯世之智、於上帝為愚、記有之、主令智者自中其詭計、

亞希多弗見其所謀不從、即備驢反故邑、歸私第、處置家事、自縊而死、葬於父墓、○

敗狡者之計、俾其所謀不得成、令智者自中其詭計、使譎者之謀早敗、若輩晝遇晦冥、午間捫搎、有如昏夜、

我上帝歟、使之如飛旋之塵埃、如風飄之草芥兮、如焚林之火、如燎山之焰、追之以烈風、驚之以雷雨兮、耶和華歟、使之羞慚滿面、致尋爾名兮、願其永久愧恥驚惶、慚怍滅亡兮、

我不恃亞述之救援、不復乘馬、不復謂我手所造者曰、爾為我神、孤兒必蒙矜憫於爾耶和華、

凡愛耶和華者、必保佑之、惟彼惡人、則滅絕之兮、

耶和華傾驕人之家、立嫠婦之界、

爾與子女僕婢、暨居爾中之利未人、以及賓旅孤寡、咸在爾上帝耶和華所選寄名之處、樂於其前、

其妻細利斯與諸友謂之曰、當具木高五丈、明日求王、懸末底改於上、然後欣然與王赴宴、哈曼悅其言、使具木焉、

或告大衛曰、亞希多弗從押沙龍、在叛黨之中、大衛曰、耶和華歟、求爾使亞希多弗之謀、變為愚昧、

清潔者應以清潔、乖戾者應以拂逆、

其事為王所知、王則頒詔、使哈曼謀害猶大人之惡計、歸於其首、父子俱懸於木、
