You carefully observe me when I travel or when I lie down to rest; you are aware of everything I do.

You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

You know when I go out to work and when I come back home. You know exactly how I live.

You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.

You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.

You observe my travels and my rest; you are aware of all my ways.

You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.

Does he not see my ways and count all my steps?

“ Do you really think anyone can hide himself where I cannot see him?” the LORD asks.“ Do you not know that I am everywhere?” the LORD asks.

May he not allow your foot to slip! May your protector not sleep!Look! Israel’s protector does not sleep or slumber!The LORD is your protector; the LORD is the shade at your right hand.The sun will not harm you by day, or the moon by night.The LORD will protect you from all harm; he will protect your life.The LORD will protect you in all you do, now and forevermore.

If I tried to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. Even if I finished counting them, I would still have to contend with you.

But why should you be captivated, my son, by an adulteress, and embrace the bosom of a different woman?For the ways of a person are in front of the LORD’s eyes, and the LORD weighs all that person’s paths.

Meanwhile Jacob left Beer Sheba and set out for Haran.He reached a certain place where he decided to camp because the sun had gone down. He took one of the stones and placed it near his head. Then he fell asleep in that placeand had a dream. He saw a stairway erected on the earth with its top reaching to the heavens. The angels of God were going up and coming down itand the LORD stood at its top. He said,“ I am the LORD, the God of your grandfather Abraham and the God of your father Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the ground you are lying on.Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west, east, north, and south. All the families of the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using your name and that of your descendants.I am with you! I will protect you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you!”Then Jacob woke up and thought,“ Surely the LORD is in this place, but I did not realize it!”He was afraid and said,“ What an awesome place this is! This is nothing else than the house of God! This is the gate of heaven!”

But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back for yourself part of the proceeds from the sale of the land?Before it was sold, did it not belong to you? And when it was sold, was the money not at your disposal? How have you thought up this deed in your heart? You have not lied to people but to God!”

He placed garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s subjects. The LORD protected David wherever he campaigned.

Why have you shown contempt for the word of the LORD by doing evil in my sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and you have taken his wife as your own! You have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.So now the sword will never depart from your house. For you have despised me by taking the wife of Uriah the Hittite as your own!’This is what the LORD says:‘ I am about to bring disaster on you from inside your own household! Right before your eyes I will take your wives and hand them over to your companion. He will have sexual relations with your wives in broad daylight!Although you have acted in secret, I will do this thing before all Israel, and in broad daylight.’”

Those who try to hide their plans from the LORD are as good as dead, who do their work in secret and boast,“ Who sees us? Who knows what we’re doing?”

“ Surely now you count my steps; then you would not mark my sin.My offenses would be sealed up in a bag; you would cover over my sin.

For God will evaluate every deed, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of his palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. Now this woman was very attractive.So David sent someone to inquire about the woman. The messenger said,“ Isn’t this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?”David sent some messengers to get her. She came to him and he had sexual relations with her.( Now at that time she was in the process of purifying herself from her menstrual uncleanness.) Then she returned to her home.The woman conceived and then sent word to David saying,“ I’m pregnant.”

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clean out his threshing floor and will gather his wheat into the storehouse, but the chaff he will burn up with inextinguishable fire.”

Jesus replied,“ Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is the devil?”( Now he said this about Judas son of Simon Iscariot, for Judas, one of the twelve, was going to betray him.)

For you write down bitter things against me and cause me to inherit the sins of my youth.And you put my feet in the stocks and you watch all my movements; you put marks on the soles of my feet.

When the time of mourning passed, David had her brought to his palace. She became his wife and she bore him a son. But what David had done upset the LORD.

When he had said these things, Jesus was greatly distressed in spirit, and testified,“ I tell you the solemn truth, one of you will betray me.”

The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, that he should betray Jesus.
