For the Lord is exalted, Yet He looks after the lowly, But He knows the haughty from afar.

耶和華雖崇高、猶顧卑微、惟彼驕人、則遙知之兮、

爾雖至高、垂顧卑微、遠斥驕矜。

主雖至高、仍垂顧卑微之人、又從遠處鑒察驕傲之人、

高高無與比。謙謙獨蒙憐。驕者終被抑。傲人遭棄捐。

Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar.

Though the Lord is high above all, he cares for the lowly. Though he is in heaven above, he sees them on earth below.

For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar.

Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.

Who is like the Lord our God, Who is enthroned on high,Who looks far down to The heavens and the earth?

For this is what the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, says:“ I dwell in a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.

But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says,“ God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

The Lord makes poor and rich; He humbles, He also exalts.He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the garbage heap To seat them with nobles, And He gives them a seat of honor as an inheritance; For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He set the world on them.

Though He scoffs at the scoffers, Yet He gives grace to the needy.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just; and He is able to humble those who walk in pride.”

These people will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

For My hand made all these things, So all these things came into being,” declares the Lord.“ But I will look to this one, At one who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at My word.

“ Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre,‘ The Lord God says this:“ Because your heart is haughty And you have said,‘ I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods In the heart of the seas’; Yet you are a mortal and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God—Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; There is no secret that is a match for you!By your wisdom and understanding You have acquired riches for yourself And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries.By your great wisdom, by your trade You have increased your riches, And your heart is haughty because of your riches—Therefore this is what the Lord God says:‘ Because you have made your heart Like the heart of God,Therefore, behold, I am going to bring strangers against you, The most ruthless of the nations. And they will draw their swords Against the beauty of your wisdom And profane your splendor.They will bring you down to the pit, And you will die the death of those who are killed In the heart of the seas.Will you still say,“ I am a god,” In the presence of one who kills you, Though you are a mortal and not God, In the hands of those who wound you?

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other one; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.

The people repeatedly cried out,“ The voice of a god and not of a man!”And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.

He has done mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their hearts.He has brought down rulers from their thrones, And has exalted those who were humble.He has filled the hungry with good things, And sent the rich away empty handed.

“ Then He will also say to those on His left,‘ Depart from Me, you accursed people, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;

And the pride of humanity will be humbled And the arrogance of people will be brought low; And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day,

Let out your outbursts of anger, And look at everyone who is arrogant, and humble him.Look at everyone who is arrogant, and humble him, And trample down the wicked where they stand.

But when his heart was arrogant and his spirit became so overbearing that he behaved presumptuously, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his dignity was taken away from him.He was also driven away from mankind, and his heart was made like that of animals, and his dwelling place was with the wild donkeys. He was given grass to eat like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he recognized that the Most High God is ruler over the realm of mankind, and that He sets over it whomever He wishes.Yet you, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, even though you knew all this,but you have risen up against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your nobles, your wives, and your concubines have been drinking wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor understand. But the God in whose hand are your life breath and all your ways, you have not glorified.Then the hand was sent from Him and this inscription was written out.

For He has had regard for the humble state of His bond servant; For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed.

The proud look of humanity will be brought low, And the arrogance of people will be humbled; And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thought from far away.

You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God is opposed to the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time,

Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; indeed, it was proven when they acted insolently against the people.”
