If the Lord doesn’t build a house, the work of the builders is useless. If the Lord doesn’t watch over a city, it’s useless for those on guard duty to stand watch over it.

You are my hiding place. You will keep me safe from trouble. You will surround me with songs sung by those who praise you because you save your people.I will guide you and teach you the way you should go. I will give you good advice and watch over you with love.

The Lord is my light, and he saves me. Why should I fear anyone? The Lord is my place of safety. Why should I be afraid?
