indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

If the LORD does not build a house, then those who build it work in vain. If the LORD does not guard a city, then the watchman stands guard in vain.

You are my hiding place; you protect me from distress. You surround me with shouts of joy from those celebrating deliverance.( Selah)I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye.

I, the LORD, protect it; I water it regularly. I guard it night and day, so no one can harm it.

At noon Elijah mocked them,“ Yell louder! After all, he is a god; he may be deep in thought, or perhaps he stepped out for a moment or has taken a trip. Perhaps he is sleeping and needs to be awakened.”

For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple, and the one seated on the throne will shelter them.

When I tried to gain wisdom and to observe the activity on earth– even though it prevents anyone from sleeping day or night–

The LORD delivers and vindicates me! I fear no one! The LORD protects my life! I am afraid of no one!
