Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.

Lord, save me from people whose lips tell lies. Save me from people whose tongues don’t tell the truth.

Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.

Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people.

Now the chief priests and the entire Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.They did not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. But later on two came forward,and said,“ This man stated,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.’ ”The high priest stood up and said to Him,“ Do You offer no answer for what these men are testifying against You?”

Malicious witnesses rise up; They ask me things that I do not know.

God of my praise, Do not be silent!For they have opened a wicked and deceitful mouth against me; They have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal faithfully are His delight.

Rescue me, Lord, from evil people; Protect me from violent menWho devise evil things in their hearts; They continually stir up wars.They sharpen their tongues like a snake; The venom of a viper is under their lips. Selah
