The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law.

Proud people make fun of me without mercy. But I don’t turn away from your law.

The insolent utterly deride me, but I do not turn away from your law.

The proud hold me in utter contempt, but I do not turn away from your instructions.

The arrogant utterly deride me, Yet I do not turn aside from Your Law.

The proud have me in great derision, Yet I do not turn aside from Your law.

The proud have had me greatly in derision: Yet have I not swerved from thy law.

Arrogant people do nothing but scoff at me. Yet I do not turn aside from your law.

The arrogant mock me excessively, but I don’t swerve from your law.

My feet have followed in his tracks; I have kept to his way and not turned aside.

You deceived me, LORD, and I was deceived. You seized me and prevailed. I am a laughingstock all the time; everyone ridicules me.

My persecutors and foes are many. I have not turned from your decrees.

Our hearts have not turned back; our steps have not strayed from your path.

The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and scoffing at him.And he told them,“ You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly admired by people is revolting in God’s sight.

You rebuke the arrogant, the ones under a curse, who wander from your commands.

The people stood watching, and even the leaders were scoffing:“ He saved others; let him save himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!”

except that in every town the Holy Spirit warns me that chains and afflictions are waiting for me.But I consider my life of no value to myself; my purpose is to finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.

Show us favor, LORD, show us favor, for we’ve had more than enough contempt.We’ve had more than enough scorn from the arrogant and contempt from the proud.

Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us,keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you won’t grow weary and give up.

The arrogant have smeared me with lies, but I obey your precepts with all my heart.

He said,“ Please, LORD, remember how I have walked before you faithfully and wholeheartedly, and have done what pleases you.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

He will not grow weak or be discouraged until he has established justice on earth. The coasts and islands will wait for his instruction.”

I cling to your decrees; LORD, do not put me to shame.
