昔罹患難。惟主是求。蒙主垂聽。我獲自由。

When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place.

When I was in great trouble, I cried out to the Lord. He answered me and set me free from my trouble.

In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free.

I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy!

The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish.Then I called on the name of the Lord:“ O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”

But he said emphatically,“ If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same.And they went to a place called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples,“ Sit here while I pray.”And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled.And he said to them,“ My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch.”And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.And he said,“ Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech,“ Bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David.And David inquired of the Lord,“ Shall I pursue after this band? Shall I overtake them?” He answered him,“ Pursue, for you shall surely overtake and shall surely rescue.”

and you have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; you have set my feet in a broad place.

And Jacob said,“ O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O Lord who said to me,‘ Return to your country and to your kindred, that I may do you good,’I am not worthy of the least of all the deeds of steadfast love and all the faithfulness that you have shown to your servant, for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan, and now I have become two camps.Please deliver me from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau, for I fear him, that he may come and attack me, the mothers with the children.

In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying; my soul refuses to be comforted.
