He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;

For I will pour water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring, And My blessing on your descendants;And they will spring up among the grass Like poplars by streams of water.’This one will say,‘ I am the Lord’s’; And that one will call on the name of Jacob; And another will write on his hand,‘ Belonging to the Lord,’ And will give himself Israel’s name with honor.

And he said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Make this valley full of trenches.’For the Lord says this:‘ You will not see wind, nor will you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you will drink, you, your livestock, and your other animals.And this is an insignificant thing in the sight of the Lord; He will also give the Moabites into your hand.Then you shall strike every fortified city and every choice city, and cut down every good tree and stop up all the springs of water, and spoil every good plot of land with stones.’ ”And it happened in the morning about the time of offering the sacrifice, that behold, water came from the direction of Edom, and the country was filled with water.

From there they continued to Beer, that is the well where the Lord said to Moses,“ Assemble the people, that I may give them water.”Then Israel sang this song:“ Spring up, O well! Sing to it!The well, which the leaders dug, Which the nobles of the people hollowed out, With the scepter and with their staffs.” And from the wilderness they continued to Mattanah,

And he said to me,“ Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me back to the bank of the river.Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river there were very many trees on the one side and on the other.Then he said to me,“ These waters go out toward the eastern region and go down into the Arabah; then they go toward the sea, being made to flow into the sea, and the waters of the sea become fresh.And it will come about that every living creature which swarms in every place where the river goes, will live. And there will be very many fish, for these waters go there and the others become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes.And it will come about that fishermen will stand beside it; from Engedi to Eneglaim there will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be according to their kinds, like the fish of the Great Sea, very many.But its swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt.And by the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”
