When our ancestors were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea.

When our people were in Egypt, they forgot about the Lord’ s miracles. They didn’t remember his many kind acts. At the Red Sea they refused to obey him.

他們對摩西說：「難道在埃及沒有墳地，你把我們帶來死在曠野嗎？你為甚麼這樣待我們，將我們從埃及領出來呢？我們在埃及豈沒有對你說過，不要攪擾我們，容我們服事埃及人嗎？因為服事埃及人比死在曠野還好。」

他們不追念他的能力和贖他們脫離敵人的日子；

要記念你在埃及地作過奴僕，耶和華－你的神將你救贖；因此，我今日吩咐你這件事。

因為以色列民毫無計謀，心中沒有聰明。惟願他們有智慧，能明白這事，肯思念他們的結局。

並且在那沉淪的人身上行各樣出於不義的詭詐；因他們不領受愛真理的心，使他們得救。故此，神就給他們一個生發錯誤的心，叫他們信從虛謊，使一切不信真理、倒喜愛不義的人都被定罪。

主雖使人憂愁，還要照他諸般的慈愛發憐憫。

他們不知道，也不思想；因為耶和華閉住他們的眼，不能看見，塞住他們的心，不能明白。

但耶和華到今日沒有使你們心能明白，眼能看見，耳能聽見。

我要照耶和華一切所賜給我們的，提起他的慈愛和美德，並他向以色列家所施的大恩；這恩是照他的憐恤和豐盛的慈愛賜給他們的。

叫他們看是看見，卻不曉得；聽是聽見，卻不明白；恐怕他們回轉過來，就得赦免。」

為他們記念他的約，照他豐盛的慈愛後悔。

又忘記他所行的和他顯給他們奇妙的作為。

他僕人亞伯拉罕的後裔，他所揀選雅各的子孫哪，你們要記念他奇妙的作為和他的奇事，並他口中的判語。

至於我，我必憑你豐盛的慈愛進入你的居所；我必存敬畏你的心向你的聖殿下拜。

神啊，求你按你的慈愛憐恤我！按你豐盛的慈悲塗抹我的過犯！

所以你們應當記念：你們從前按肉體是外邦人，是稱為沒受割禮的；這名原是那些憑人手在肉身上稱為受割禮之人所起的。

耶穌看出來，就說：「你們為甚麼因為沒有餅就議論呢？你們還不省悟，還不明白嗎？你們的心還是愚頑嗎？你們有眼睛，看不見嗎？有耳朵，聽不見嗎？也不記得嗎？我擘開那五個餅分給五千人，你們收拾的零碎裝滿了多少籃子呢？」他們說：「十二個。」「又擘開那七個餅分給四千人，你們收拾的零碎裝滿了多少筐子呢？」他們說：「七個。」耶穌說：「你們還是不明白嗎？」

說：你們愚昧人喜愛愚昧，褻慢人喜歡褻慢，愚頑人恨惡知識，要到幾時呢？
