心怨口讟。弁髦良箴。

They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the Lord.

In their tents they told the Lord how unhappy they were. They didn’t obey him.

They murmured in their tents, and did not obey the voice of the Lord.

Instead, they grumbled in their tents and refused to obey the Lord.

They grumbled in their tents and did not listen to the LORD.

Yet ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of Jehovah your God:and ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because Jehovah hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

For he is our God, And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To- day, oh that ye would hear his voice!Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness;When your fathers tempted me, Proved me, and saw my work.

And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this wilderness!And wherefore doth Jehovah bring us unto this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: were it not better for us to return into Egypt?And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

Wherefore, even as the Holy Spirit saith, To- day if ye shall hear his voice,Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,

because all those men that have seen my glory, and my signs, which I wrought in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

while it is said, To- day if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
