因此，主万军之耶和华必打发令人消瘦的病临到亚述王肥壮的军人中间，在他的荣耀之下必燃起火焰，如同火烧一样。

有风从耶和华那里吹起，把鹌鹑由海面刮来，散落在营地；鹌鹑在营的四周，这边约有一天的路程，那边约有一天的路程，离地面约有一公尺。人民起来，那一天终日终夜，并次日一整天，都在捕捉鹌鹑，最少的也捕捉了约二千公升；他们都摆在营地的四周。肉在他们牙齿之间，还没有嚼烂，耶和华的怒气就向人民发作，用极重的灾祸击打他们。于是那地方名叫基博罗．哈他瓦，因为他们在那里埋葬起了贪欲的人。

他们吃了，而且吃得很饱，这样，神把他们所愿的都赐给他们了。他们还没有因所愿的满足，食物仍在他们口中的时候，神的怒气就向他们发作，杀了他们中间最肥壮的人，击倒了以色列的年轻人。

我们听见从地极有歌声唱着：“荣耀归于义人。”我却说：“我消瘦了，我消瘦了！我有祸了！诡诈的仍在行诡诈，诡诈的仍在大行诡诈。”
