And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

And they shall know that I am the Lord their God with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Lord God.And you are my sheep, human sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Lord God.”

To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord is God; there is no other besides him.

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Your hands fashioned and made me, and now you have destroyed me altogether.Remember that you have made me like clay; and will you return me to the dust?Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese?You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit.Yet these things you hid in your heart; I know that this was your purpose.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.Oh that you would slay the wicked, O God! O men of blood, depart from me!They speak against you with malicious intent; your enemies take your name in vain.Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?I hate them with complete hatred; I count them my enemies.Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.

know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.

Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!

Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods.But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?

So now, O Lord our God, save us, please, from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, O Lord, are God alone.”

Then he led out his people like sheep and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

Go on up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; lift it up, fear not; say to the cities of Judah,“ Behold your God!”Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

And at the time of the offering of the oblation, Elijah the prophet came near and said,“ O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you have turned their hearts back.”Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said,“ The Lord, he is God; the Lord, he is God.”

We have become like those over whom you have never ruled, like those who are not called by your name.

shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly;not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

“ For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out.

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hand.”

but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep.My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

O God, why do you cast us off forever? Why does your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture?Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage! Remember Mount Zion, where you have dwelt.

But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God and the everlasting King. At his wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure his indignation.

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;

Then he remembered the days of old, of Moses and his people. Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put in the midst of them his Holy Spirit,

For God, who said,“ Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Does it seem good to you to oppress, to despise the work of your hands and favor the designs of the wicked?

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription:‘ To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man,

Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say,“ I have no pleasure in them”;

those who say,“ With our tongue we will prevail, our lips are with us; who is master over us?”
